What is Coaching?

Rachel’s promise to you, her client:

As your professional life coach, I will work with you to get more of what you want and less of what you don’t want. I will create a plan of action that makes optimum use of your skills as you step on the path to fulfilling your goals and finding clarity in all you do. As a result, you will develop a whole new awareness of who you are, where you want to be, and what is really important to you, thereby uncovering your authentic relationship with yourself. I will support you throughout this journey without judgment and ensure that you have a safe and fun place for you to move forward in enhancing all of your relationships at your own pace.

Coaching entails working with people who already have a measure of "success" in their lives, but who want to bridge the gap between where they are and where they want to be in their profession and their personal life. This is much like a trainer who helps an athlete win the "gold medal” – not just be in the race. Coaches help their clients design the life they want, bring out their clients’ own brilliance and resources so that they can achieve excellence and create purposeful, extraordinary lives. While coaching is still most prevalent in the corporate environment, individuals are increasingly turning to coaches for help in enhancing all aspects of their lives."

A professional life coach is:

  • Your mentor in personal development.
  • Your champion during a turnaround.
  • Your sounding board when making choices.
  • Your motivation when strong actions are called for.
  • Your unconditional support when you take a hit.
  • Your wake-up call if you don’t hear your own.
  • And most importantly, your partner in helping you have all of what matters most to you."

Why Invest in a Life Coach?

Clients hire me because they feel stuck, or not motivated and they can’t move forward in their lives. They may be in a dead-end relationship, decidedly bored with their jobs, or have become complacent.

Some clients come to me because they are searching for something, but they don’t know what. They want to add more definite meaning to their lives, but they lack the clarity to achieve what they want. In other words, you can’t fix what you don’t see.

Others lack motivation and procrastinate on making changes. They are waiting for XYZ to happen or for someone else to change. Or they simply don’t know how to make the changes they truly desire in their lives.

Some of my clients are having trouble in their personal and professional relationships. There’s an underlying lack of self confidence, self acceptance and self love. If they felt better about themselves and trusted the authentic core of their being, they would have the clarity, courage and confidence to make the changes they know they need to make.

I work with gay men, through a tailored “inside out” coaching process, to help remove the self-limiting patterns and belief systems that keep them stuck or hold them back from their desired life. After a series of empowering coaching sessions, it’s wonderful to see how they personally develop and their relationships flourish. Recognizing the joy, passion, and purpose that shows up in their everyday lives is the ultimate reward. Most importantly, I love recognizing their new sense of empowerment to move forward with ease and confidence.
